I have just heard that my proposed residency for the Michaelmas term at St John’s College, Durham, as the Ruth Etchells Fellow in Creative Writing has been postponed yet again because of Covid. Bother!

//Well, here we are in what is being called a lockdown. The question I am asking is, will this be a golden time for us writers? I must confess I love the fact that the city street on which I live is now as quiet as a country lane. And yes, I am determined to finish my novel and maybe by some miracle find an agent!
